Switching Your Mississippi Registered Agent

What the State Charges: $10

The current SOS fee schedule lists the LLC filing as the Registered Agent/Office Statement of Change, code F0010, at $10. You can verify the line yourself on the official fee schedule. Ten dollars sits near the bottom of agent-change fees nationally, so price is no reason to stay in a bad arrangement.

There Is No Form to Download

Mississippi moved its business filings online years ago, and the state's own business FAQ says there is "no longer a separate form" to change a registered agent. The change runs as an amendment inside the SOS business portal at corp.sos.ms.gov. F0010 is the state's internal code for that filing type, not a PDF. Everything reaches the Secretary of State's Business Services Division through the portal.

The Five Steps

1. Line up the new agent. An individual living in Mississippi, or a company authorized to do business here, with a real street address in the state. We qualify.
2. Log in to the portal. The amendment starts at the SOS portal login.
3. Open the amendment for your entity and swap in the new agent's name and Mississippi street address.
4. Pay the $10 fee by card at submission.
5. Run a business search afterward and confirm the new agent shows on your record.

Once processed, every future document routes to the new agent. The old one is off the hook.
